I woke up at 5 a.m. to go to Comarca el Limonal. Limonal is about 3 hours away from the city of Managua. I was in a very rural area most of the people in this area are mestizos and indigenous. You need to take dirt roads to get there. The area where I was distributing clothes had no water and no electricity. To get water you need to walk to a small stream of water that passes by the town or to the ocean. The drive was long and very interesting because we passed through many small towns and saw things I have never seen in my life. I was heartbroken to see so much poverty. We passed small towns and I got to see how some of the indigenous people of Nicaragua live. On our way to Limonal, we drove by the town of Chinandega and El Viejo. El Viejo is a very colorful town where most people ride bicycles and tricycles. I distributed clothes to the children of Limonal and they were very happy. First, I distributed the clothes, brought a pinata, served them lunch (rice with chicken) with juice. It was lots of fun. Enjoy the pictures.
