I was working in Corinto this summer. Corinto is a small beach town about 3 hours from Managua. In Corinto many of the homes are by the water, so when it rains a lot, or there are strong winds the homes disappear. I distributed clothes in a small area the slums of Corinto to the fishermen and their families (children and adults). It was interesting working in Corinto and seeing how these families all work together in teamwork and physical labor fishing to survive. It was sad to see the ocean polluted and so much marine life dead. Fishermen go out into the deep sea in small boats called “Pangas” to fish.
